During her first weekend reigning as queen of the Lawrence County Fair, 19-year-old Caitlin Kinser answered some questions posed by Times-Mail intern Richard White. Here’s a glimpse into the Notre Dame sophomore’s life when she isn’t wearing a tiara and awarding prizes to top animals and craft projects at the fair.

When you wake up, what is the first thing that crosses your mind?

The things that I will be doing today.

Who are your three all-time favorite music artists?

GooGoo Dolls, Chris Daughtry and Something Corporate.

After a long day, what do you do to relax?

Stretch out on my bed and watch TV or a movie.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Disney movies and ’90s music.

Who is your hero?

My grandparents, because my grandma has always believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself, and my Poppa always sees the best in everyone and has never said an unkind word in his life. They have been married for over 50 years. That kind of love is a special gift that I look to with admiration and respect.

What clubs are you in?

I am a member of The Dome yearbook staff at Notre Dame and a “FIREstarter” (peer counselor) with Notre Dame’s Gender Relations Center.

Who are your parents and siblings?

Tony and Mindy Kinser, brother Drew Kinser (age 17).

Would you rather phone or text?

I prefer to call, but sometimes texting is necessary depending on where I am.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Read, write, watch movies and hang out with my friends.

What do you want to do as a profession?

I’m interested in screenwriting or broadcasting.

If you had a superpower, what would it be?

I would like to have the ability to fly, because I have friends who live all over the country. That way I could visit them whenever I wanted — and I love to travel.

What do you like most about Indiana?

The leaves in the fall.

What is your favorite food?

Stove-top popped popcorn with butter and salt.

What is your dream car?

A black Range Rover.

If you could date any celebrity, who would it be?

Chace Crawford (from “Gossip Girl”) is pretty cute, but being an Irish girl, I would have to stay loyal to Brady Quinn.
